RONA Foundation
About RONA: RONA (Relationship, Opportunities, Networking, Advocacy) is a foundation dedicated to protecting and providing for widows and orphans who are victims of culture. In many Kenyan cultures, widows are ostricized, stigmatized and mistreated, their only way out being the ritual of "cleansing", which further degrades a woman. By building shelters, feeding, educating and working to put new laws into place, RONA and Serving Others Worldwide provide a way out for otherwise helpless widows and orphans.
RONA Program Director/Founder: Roseline Orwa
Project Information:
In July of 2019 a group of volunteers will be travelling to Wagoma Village in Kenya, RONA's center of operations, to build a multi-purpose building that will create a space in which the community of orphans and widows can thrive. It will be used to educate the orphans, teach widows a trade, such as sewing, and as a place of gathering for worship. Your donation to this project comes with a tax-deductable receipt.
Donate to Daily Needs:
A donation through the RONA Foudnation will directly provide for immediate needs such as food, shelter and education, and is not tax-deductable. To learn more about the specific needs and donate to this cause, click here.
